St Helena Reserve - Napa County

This house is currently rented, will be available again in 2018.

What we love about St. Helena Reserve

Redefining the contemporary Napa Valley retreat, St. Helena Reserve is a designer’s dream home just two blocks from the bustling downtown of St. Helena. Composed of simple forms, rich textures and custom pieces, this warm, family-friendly 4+ bedroom villa was featured in Western Interiors Magazine for its modern take on the classic American farmhouse. At St. Helena Reserve, every detail has been carefully thought out, from the individual ‘His & Hers’ master baths, to the glass pocket doors extending the inside space outdoors, to the use of organic materials complementing one another, there isn’t one corner of this home that hasn’t been meticulously crafted. Upon entering the villa, you will be greeted by a hallway leading you to separate wings of the home — to the left sits the master suite, decorated with a soothing color palette, a linen king-size bed, exposed wood beams and an alfresco sitting area, whereas the additional two guest bedrooms reside on the opposite side of the villa, both furnished with queen-size beds and en-suite bathrooms.

Live like a Wine Country local and spend your days gathering fresh ingredients at nearby markets only to come back and cook up your own culinary feasts in the villa’s gourmet kitchen; here you will find a central space flooded with natural sunlight, marble countertops and bar stools, a kids drawing table, concrete floors, white-oak cabinetry, a six-burner Viking stove and a Sub-Zero refrigerator with separate wine cooler. On the other side of the kitchen is the villa’s communal great room, housing a sitting area, wet bar and beveled metal fireplace on one end, and a circular 8-seater dining table on the other. When the afternoon heats up, open up the dining room doors to join the outside patio, firepit and stone table together. Along with ample seats and lounge chairs, St. Helena Reserve’s garden features beautiful olive trees surrounding a swimming pool, inset hot tub and level grass lawn. Also accessible from the villa’s courtyard is an original water tower which has been renovated into an apartment intended to accommodate extra guests and play quarters for children of all ages. Sleeping up to 10 people at a time, St. Helena Reserve is ideally suited for groups of families and friends looking for an intimate and aesthetically pleasing home-away-from-home.

Good to Know

Set in a quiet residential neighborhood of St. Helena, this home is great for those wanting to be within close walking distance to some of Napa Valley’s most acclaimed destinations. Surrounded by neighbors on every side, St. Helena Reserve gives you the feeling of community living while still retaining its privacy and sense of seclusion. The lush garden and courtyard are hidden by a wall of bamboo, green hedges and native olive trees. The renovated water tower off of the courtyard offers you a glimpse into the property’s rural past, now a structure complete with a step-down kitchen, dining nook, two bathrooms, and a mixed-use TV and playroom made up of bean bags and a floor-to-ceiling chalkboard. Accessible via a red spiral staircase are two additional floors where extra beds exist for guests, a space most fitting for kids and teenagers.

Eat, Drink & Play

St. Helena is the town you imagine when you hear the words “Wine country.” Populated by many of the foremost vintners in the world, and home to the famed Napa Valley Wine Auction, St. Helena is well known to the jet set, yet retains a small town atmosphere. Combining the best of its historic buildings with new and charming shops and restaurants, the downtown district is a shopper’s paradise and a gourmet’s delight. Forget the car and stroll by foot from your front door to the boutiques, tasting rooms and cafes that await. During a stay at St. Helena Reserve, we recommend checking out these hot spots:

  • Woodhouse Chocolate
When in the mood to indulge, look no further than this chocolatier storefront, touted the best in all of Napa and Sonoma Valley
  • Cameo Cinema
