Yellow Door Cottage - Sonoma County

What we love about Yellow Door Cottage

For those guests who want to feel instantly at home and relaxed, Yellow Door Cottage is the perfect choice. This newly-built contemporary California ranch-style home is ideal for families with its open floor plan, huge pool/spa, and deck (ideal for al fresco dining or just watching the sunset over the hills) and expansive green lawn where kids can play while mom and dad chill out. You’ll also want to check out the friendly horses grazing in the neighbor’s field.

The casual décor – white washed walls and cabinets with splashes of color…including a bright yellow professional stove – is so refreshing in this light filled retreat.

Yellow Door Cottage is ideally located for exploring the wine country. All of this charm and comfort is only two miles from the Sonoma town square with its top tier restaurants, quaint shops, numerous tasting rooms and lots of historic sites. (Don’t miss Train Town, a super fun place to visit). And your home is close to some of the region’s top wineries -- many offer family friendly activities.

Good to Know

The ‘all on one floor’ ranch layout offers lots of space and privacy. The Great Room is the heart of the home with its open modern kitchen, large dining area, comfortable living room and fireplace. There are three bedrooms – the master with an ensuite contemporary bathroom and two large bedrooms that share a large bathroom.

The backyard, pool area and deck are very spacious. The deck which spans the entire back of the house has an outdoor living/dining room feel. With easy access to the kitchen, you’ll spend lot time on the deck from morning breakfasts to late night glasses of wine and super stargazing.

Eat, Drink & Play

More than a place, Sonoma Valley is a state of mind, with a culture that honors its roots as the birthplace of California’s premium wine industry. At its heart is the charming Sonoma town plaza - the largest in California - only 45 minutes from San Francisco and less than 10 minute from Yellow Door Cottage. Ringed by boutiques, galleries, historic sites, and eateries that range from intimate cafes to four-star restaurants, the plaza is a hub for visitors and locals alike. Surrounded by vineyards, farms and groves of olive and fruit trees, there is no better place to put the top down on the car, cruise the open country roads and sample organic delights from the numerous roadside food stands. Of course, a trip to Sonoma wouldn’t be complete without a stop or two at the nearby wineries for a private tour and tasting of the lush reds and crisp whites that this region is so famous for. Some of our favorite spots within just minutes of Yellow Door Cottage include:

  • Fremont Diner
A contemporary take on the classic American diner, this food joint is a must-visit while in the area, offering menu items like shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and homemade biscuits and gravy
  • Sonoma TrainTown Railroad
Families know to head to Train Town for a joyous day of nostalgic fun on one of the largest rideable scale model trains in the country.
  • Sonoma Plaza
