Lake Kora - Adirondacks, New York

Enchanting and intimate, truly the epitome of rustic elegance, Lake Kora awaits your visit.

The ultimate private escape, Lake Kora is an historic lakefront property set on one thousand secluded acres deep in the pine forests of the Adirondacks. One of the original “Great Camps” built over a century ago and until recently enjoyed only by its owners and their fortunate guests, this magnificent estate is now available for exclusive use.

Lake Kora is an ideal place for gathering together loved ones, whether an extended family or a group of dear friends. Lake Kora comprises numerous buildings and several grand lodges crafted of timber, stone and iron hewn on-site with majestic picture windows for panoramic views of its exquisite setting. Up to 35 guests may enjoy Lake Kora. Gathering spaces abound throughout, and include a gaming room in the main lodge and the Playhouse with a squash court, a media room and a candlepin bowling alley. Other pastimes include tennis, boating on the property’s three pristine lakes, fishing, walking on the trail that encircles the lake or relaxing in the spa building’s whirlpool or sauna.

Meals are prepared by a gourmet chef and culinary team using locally, sourced ingredients whenever possible, fresh from the farmer’s market. With togetherness as one of the most beloved advantages of a visit to Lake Kora, meals are served family style, most often at the long table in the main dining room. A number of different locations are available, however: The deck of the boathouse is a favorite spot for lunch; you might have cocktails on the lawn or a casual dinner in the Playhouse or in the island cottage. Should the evening turn chilly, a bonfire – along with all of the fixings to make old-fashioned s’mores – may await you at the lean-to’s down by the lake.

Please note: Lake Kora is exclusively available to one group at a time and does not accept individual bookings. Rates start at $21,980 per day for up to twenty-four guests (inclusive of children) and includes the use of all facilities, buildings and meal service. Special rates apply for additional guests. Lake Kora can accommodate 35 guests.
