Day Dreamer - Sonoma County
Celebrate Wine Country elegance in this contemporary farmhouse within walking distance of the Sonoma Plaza. The 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom villa rental is perfect for intimate gatherings between friends, with a spacious kitchen and comfortable living and media room spaces to gather and linger. High ceilings give the 3000-square-foot home a country feel, while eccentric art and light fixtures keep guests smiling. The laid-back vibe continues outside with a backyard that looks out on a private vineyard and invites relaxation. Laugh with pals around the conversation pit, swim laps in the inground pool, or de- stress in the standalone sauna. In this luxury getaway, it’s hard not to daydream about the future.
Interior
Living space inside this Wine Country vacation home is bright, airy, and welcoming. The open-concept kitchen is stocked with restaurant-quality appliances and ample pantry space. A long kitchen table transitions to an expansive living room with a fireplace and cozy couches that invite guests to stay a while. The media room, in hues of blue, boasts a television that takes up an entire wall, as well as a wraparound couch that seats 10. Bedrooms are luxe and uncluttered. The main bedroom suite looks out on the backyard vineyard and has a cavernous bathroom with a steam shower and a secret door that leads to the standalone sauna. A junior bedroom suite with its own spacious bathroom sits on the other side of the house. The third bedroom has two twin beds that can be pushed together to form a king. Around the home, whimsical art invites guests to look closer and laugh. The best example: A quartet of flying pig sculptures that hang on the wall above the front door.
Exterior
Think of the backyard here as a private oasis. The space is totally enclosed, and at dusk the sun sets over a private vineyard to the west. Closer to the house, a conversation pit with fire feature welcomes guests to linger over local wine. The inground pool is flanked by chaise lounges—perfect resting pads for an afternoon nap. A two-person standalone sauna looks like a giant wine barrel. There is also a relaxing hot tub. Much like the interior of the house, the backyard is punctuated with intriguing sculptures in the form of sheep. Look quickly and you might think the artwork is alive.
Other amenities
This Sonoma vacation rental offers several other touches guests will appreciate. There’s Google Home technology in every room, enabling easy control of everything from lights and entertainment to heating and air conditioning. Most wall outlets have USB ports, which makes charging devices a snap. There also are three garage spots—hot commodities in this part of Wine Country—and two electric vehicle chargers. The home was renovated in 2020. Owner will consider dogs on request with an additional fee.
Location
Daydreamer sits less than a mile from the Sonoma Plaza, the largest town square in all of Wine Country, and home to a bustling farmers’ market every Tuesday night. The house also is a short walk from dozens of restaurants and tasting rooms, and two blocks from a small community market that locals adore. Daydreamer is in the middle of a residential neighborhood, hidden from the street by a wall of trees and a xeriscaped front yard.
