Set on a quiet residential street just a 10-minute walk from St. Helena's Main Street, Casa Oliva offers something increasingly rare in Napa Valley: the ease of staying in town combined with the privacy, gardens and outdoor living of a Wine Country retreat with 3 ensuite bedrooms.
The historic home was completely renovated in 2026, preserving its traditional St. Helena character while creating bright, comfortable interiors designed for today's way of living. With three ensuite bedrooms, generous gathering spaces, a saltwater cocktail pool and spa, and inviting gardens in both the front and back of the property, Casa Oliva is an ideal home base for couples, friends or family spending time in Napa Valley.
The main living and dining room is the heart of the home. A soaring vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and skylights brings natural light into space, while a fireplace anchors a comfortable seating area with a large-screen TV. An additional sitting area, wet bar and dining table for six make this an easy room for everyone to gather, whether for morning coffee, drinks before dinner or a quiet evening at home.
The adjacent kitchen is spacious and exceptionally well equipped, with marble countertops, a large center island with seating, a Wolf range and generous prep and storage space. Black-framed windows and doors overlook the gardens and provide a contemporary counterpoint to the home's traditional architecture.
For movie nights or simply another place to relax, a separate media room has comfortable lounge seating and a large television.
Throughout the house, the renovation has a light and natural feel, with oak floors, white walls, warm woods and thoughtfully chosen furnishings.
Casa Oliva has three private bedroom suites.
Two king bedrooms are located on the first floor, a particularly convenient arrangement for couples traveling together. The spacious primary bedroom includes its own sitting area and a contemporary bathroom with double vanity and large glass-enclosed shower. The second king bedroom is also ensuite.
Upstairs, the queen bedroom has a sitting area and private bathroom, creating a comfortable retreat of its own.
An additional half bath serves the main living areas.
Exterior space and gardens
The front garden
The front garden is designed around a 13-by-25-foot saltwater cocktail pool with an integrated in-pool spa. Intentionally more intimate than a traditional swimming pool, it is a wonderful place for a dip, an afternoon in the sun or an evening soak after a day exploring Napa Valley.
Chaise lounges and umbrellas surround the pool, while additional seating areas are tucked beneath mature trees and among olive trees, boxwood, ornamental grasses and other Mediterranean-inspired plantings.
One of the pleasures of the property is that there isn't just one place to sit outside. Stone paths meander through the garden to several different gathering spots, some sunny and others shaded beneath the canopy of mature trees.
The back garden
Behind the house is an entirely different outdoor setting, designed more for cooking, dining and evenings outside.
A dining terrace sits beneath a pergola, with a grill and Forno Piombo wood-fired pizza oven nearby. At the center of the garden, a fountain provides a focal point, while a separate fire bowl surrounded by Adirondack chairs creates a natural gathering place after dark.
Mature trees, including a wonderful old fig, frame the garden, and landscape lighting transforms the space in the evening. Dinner outside can easily turn into another bottle of wine around the fire—without anyone having to get in a car.
The property is fully fenced, with Grecian laurels lining much of the perimeter along with olive trees, boxwood, feather grasses and flowering shrubs, creating privacy while retaining the relaxed character of a Wine Country garden.
Location
Perhaps Casa Oliva's greatest advantage is its location.
St. Helena's Main Street is approximately a 10-minute walk away, putting restaurants, cafés, boutiques, art galleries, tasting rooms and specialty food shops within easy reach. Guests can walk into town for coffee in the morning, lunch or dinner and return home to the privacy of the gardens and pool.
Beyond town, Casa Oliva is ideally positioned for exploring Napa Valley, with many of the region's celebrated wineries and restaurants just a short drive away.
It is this combination that makes the property particularly appealing: a beautifully renovated home, private gardens and pool, excellent outdoor living, and one of Napa Valley's most charming towns just down the street.
